Reza, Ali and Danial had to escape from Iran and seeked asylum in Germany. They had to leave their lives and families behind and now have to get accustomed to the new country and to their status as asylum seekers. The film documents their lives in the grey area between detention and acceptance.
Judith Albrecht works as a social anthropologist and documentary filmmaker in Berlin. Her main fields of interest, over the last 9 years, were questions of migration, memory and gender. Her main research field became Iran. She is writing her Dissertation about „transnational relations of iranian women (Teheran, Los Angels, Berlin)“ She was one of the founders of the AG „Deutsch im Asyl“ and is executive manager of the MEMOS society- Rememberance of crises and conflicts.
